Many publishers found the viral marketing with master resell rights technique so efficient and cost effective, not to mention helpful for helping people generate a little coin at the same time, that they would produce entire lines of books specifically for marketing purposes. The books were full of valuable content, worthy of the price of the book, resalable or not, but it embedded both the excitement of the information for the reader/knowledge seeker, and links to more products that could help the reader achieve their goals (and generate sales for the publisher!). At the end of the day the publisher is getting free advertising all over the internet everywhere the book is read.
