The Office Contact Folder
When I started working for an investment firm a few years ago, I glanced through the office contact folder. I was surprised to see a list of accountants in Sacramento, so I asked my boss why they were in the contact folder. He simply told me I would understand come April. Months went by and out of the blue, it seemed like every single client was calling in asking for a CPA recommendation. I became very familiar with the numbers of our most recommended accountants and could recite them by the end of tax season. I guess that is what my boss meant when he told me I would understand.
