My View On “Daniel Henninger: Obama and the Spending Volcano”
07 March 2012
Steve, the problem with your comment is that your work on bridge and road construction is part of the stimulus fiasco. These are costs that we willl bear with or without the stimulus and can be defended by saying lets do them now. It is the large part of the stimulus that goes to universities for unneeded studies, for projects that are temporary and have no lasting benefit, it is porkbarrel for construction projects that won’t be self sustaining when completed. There were some things in the package that were worth while. Things we needed anyway, but bought earlier than planned. My problem with the bridge and road projects is where all the money from road and useage taxes goes. How many hands are in those funds and how much is used for bike advice trails and such. Where are the priorities in the spending of those funds? (I know it is based on pork)
