Mt brother had come over for the day and I asked him if he would help me out on a project I been putting off for almost 3 weeks. The pool winterize project, as I liked to call it, was always a challenging & time consuming effort each year. I figured with his help I could bang it out in half the time and effort. We had to go to the pool store to get the chemicals required and a a couple of new water weight bags since I lost 2 of them last winter to a playful dog. This past summer I have been helping my niece Andrea build her tree house. This has been a true joy.  I don’t have any nephews or children of my own so I never thought in a million years that I would be building another tree-house.  This was a little different because although my niece wanted this tree-house for years, she is not the kind of girl that wants to play like a boy, fake guns, that sort of thing. She came to me yesterday with a request to get some flower lights so her and her friends can play dolls at night. I don’t mind because she is a terrific girl.

I have been in and out of my room today numerous times but this last time I noticed the table lamp sitting on my drawer.  I stopped on my tracks and sat on the bed.  I remember that table lamp.  It was given to me by the only person I have ever loved.  He bought me that lamp knowing I would love the Chinese art painted on it.  He is gone now but I never dump the table lamp in the closet.  Moments like this, when the only thing I see is the table lamp he gave, is worth more than a thousand memories.
