Prime Camping Season

As a park ranger, I really wish that more people would have Poiison ivy knowledge. During prime camping season, we get reports of people reacting to poisonous plants every day. Many come to the park offices for treatment, and we have limited resources. We have issued bulletins to many people coming to camp in the past, but most do not take heed of our warnings. You would think that schools should teach rudimentary knowledge of wilderness survival, but sadly, most have no idea of plants to avoid. Most campers arrive in fully equipped RV’s, complete with satellite television, for goodness sake! I don’t even think it can be called, “camping.”
