What is a Type 2 Asbestos survey?
A Type 2 Asbestos survey involves the same work as a Type 1 asbestos survey but with the additional work of collecting samples to be analysed for asbestos presence. For this reason a Type 2 survey is often refered to as a ‘Sampling Survey’.The asbestos surveyor will have already made certain judgements about the presence of asbestos in the building, but the sample analysis is made so that it can be made certain. If the building is small enough then the sampling will normally be carried out at the same time as the Type 1 asbestos survey. If the building is too big, then the Type 2 survey will be carried out as a seperate survey.
